The King George V Silver Jubilee Medal was issued in 1935 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the accession of King George V to the throne on 6 May 1910. The medal was presented to members of the Royal Family, government officials, armed forces personnel, and selected civilians in recognition of their service during the King’s reign.
Awarded in silver to distinguished individuals chosen by the government and military authorities. Recipients included senior military officers, public servants, community leaders, and representatives of various organisations. The distribution was limited, making the medal a prized commemorative award.
The circular silver medal features conjoined left-facing busts of King George V and Queen Mary on the obverse. The reverse displays the royal cypher of King George V, flanked by the dates 1910 and 1935, surrounded by an ornate wreath and surmounted by the Tudor Crown.
The ribbon is dark blue with narrow white stripes at each edge, representing loyalty and the enduring service of the Crown.
