Design
The medal, 36 millimeters in diameter, is made of nickel-silver. The obverse side features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse side carries the inscription 'FOR DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT IN THE FIELD'.
Ribbon
The accompanying ribbon, 32 millimeters wide, consists of dark crimson with a central navy blue stripe.
