The Victorian Police Star Medal is a prestigious award established to honour the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of both current and former members of the Victoria Police Force. This esteemed medal is conferred upon those who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty, or who have demonstrated exceptional bravery in life-threatening situations.
Members who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty are automatically eligible for this award.
Demonstrated exceptional bravery in life-threatening situations, going beyond the call of duty to protect life or property, as determined by the organisation's leadership.
The award can be conferred posthumously and to former members of the Victoria Police Force who meet the eligibility criteria.
