Established in 1983, the Joint Service Achievement Medal is awarded to individuals to recognize either exceptional achievement or meritorious service. This medal takes precedence over the individual service Achievement Medals and is not awarded for acts or periods of service that have already been recognized by a specific Achievement Medal.
Design
The medal shape is two layered 6-pointed stars, with an eagle with raised wings on the front. The eagle clutches three arrows and bears a shield on its chest. On the reverse "Joint Service Achievement Award” is inscribed in a circular pattern at the centre.
Ribbon
The accompanying silk ribbon showcases a central red stripe, bordered on each side by a broad light blue stripe. This is flanked by alternating stripes of white, green, white, and dark blue at the edges.
