The Queensland SES Meritorious Service Medal is a state-level award established to recognise the dedicated service of volunteer members of the Queensland State Emergency Service. This esteemed medal is conferred upon those who have demonstrated a consistent and effective commitment to the SES in Queensland.
All QFES SES volunteers are eligible for nomination after providing 10 years of regular and effective participation in the SES in Queensland. (Note: SES service in other states and territories is not eligible for this award.)
A clasp will be issued for each additional increment of five years of service. For example, 15 years of service is represented by the medal and a 15-year clasp, while 20 years of service is represented by the medal and a 20-year clasp.
As the clasp indicates the total number of years of service, clasps will be replaced as they are awarded. If the initial award to a recipient includes a clasp, the clasp will be attached prior to presentation.
