Eligibility for this distinguished medal includes the following criteria:

• A minimum of 10 years of service as a uniformed Fire Officer or Fire Communications Dispatch Officer is required.
• For each additional 10-year period of service, a clasp will be awarded to be affixed to the existing medal.
